I'm working on a Ph.D. project on construction of the body in digital worlds.
The foundation of the project is that the social digital platforms generate new forms of interaction. But what happens to the body in these otherwise disembodied communities? The purpose of my project is to investigate what happens to young people's relationship with the body in a digital context.
My first case is fashion blogs where I intend to examine how the relationship between body and clothing is constructed, and which ideas about the subject is behind it all.
I have an MA In Danish from the University of Copenhagen, where I have worked with visual media, digital aesthetics and image analysis. I wrote my thesis about MySpace and Flickr and about how aestheticism is used as an important element in the construction of online identity. Additionally, I have been an external lecturer for three semesters in Danish at the University of Copenhagen, where I taught media, aesthetics and genres.
