It takes more than just a psychological perspective

It has been my pleasure to get to know Illeris and his work in recent years (Illeris, 2002, 2007) and he has paid me a compliment in using my work to augment his own in some small ways. In our different ways I think that we both want to understand how the person learns but we want more than this – we want to understand how the whole human being learns and yet I feel sure that we both recognise the complexity of this process and recognise that even as we approach what seems to us to be a point of significance it turns out to be but a further step in the quest – for our quest is almost like a mirage and the light at the end of the tunnel only points us deeper into the tunnel!
